Hunter’s Healing

For the last year and a half I have been photographing dogs for Ned’s Wish, a charity that funds health care for retired service dogs (police, military, search and rescue etc). Their 2027 calendar is now being printed and I’m happy to provide photos for the second year! Now I’m embarking on a new project for them: Hunter’s 4 Seasons of Healing. His journey began with a necessary spinal surgery for a slipped disc, and now, with the help of a very loving family, he is building up muscle and learning to walk again. Thanks to the dedication of the NS Canine Recovery and Wellness Centre, Airdrie, he’ll get the best in therapeutic and supportive therapy. Hunter’s recovery will take a while, but we’ll have a photo session for every season, showing his journey of recovery and resilience.

Currently Hunter is able to walk and stand minimally, with the assistance of his dog-Dad Matt, using a harness to help support his front and back legs.

Ned’s Wish is contributing to his veterinary and rehabilitation fees. What can be better than supporting this cause for our canine heroes? Visit their website to learn more about how you can make a difference.

(Just to add: every single person who knows Hunter, loves Hunter. He’s that kind of soul.)
