Four-Season Outdoor Dog Photography in Calgary & Southern Alberta

Alberta’s landscapes change dramatically throughout the year — sparkling winter snow, fresh spring greens, vibrant summer light, and fiery autumn leaves.

Pup Tent Photography specializes in outdoor dog photography that celebrates these natural environments and the adventurous dogs who love them.

Each Bark to Nature photo session is designed around the season, the location, and most importantly, your dog’s personality.

Why Four-Season Dog Photography Is So Special

Every event we host is designed with intention, from the atmosphere we create to the way each session flows.

selecting the season

Dogs experience the world through movement, scent, and exploration — which is why photographing them outdoors creates the most authentic images.

Every season offers something unique: deep winter snow, blooming spring landscapes, bright summer adventures, and warm autumn colours.

outdoor dog photography locations

Every dog has a season that suits their personality. Some dogs shine running through snow, while others love warm evenings and river swims. During your consultation we’ll choose the perfect season and location to create images that reflect your dog’s true spirit.

Bark to Nature photo sessions take place in beautiful natural locations across Southern Alberta, including:

Your season and photography location Questions, Answered

  • Seasonal weather is a consideration if your session has to be postponed. Spring rains, summer wildfire smoke, fall frosts or winter snowstorms may jeopardize our successful session. Your photoshoot is easily sidestepped and rescheduled.

  • Active adventure dog owners are out in spring, summer, fall and winter. Join my Bark and Beyond Loyalty program - dog owners have chosen photo sessions in every season, once they’ve enjoyed their first photoshoot with Pup Tent Photography. For your initial shoot, select based on your favorite outdoor memories.

  • Yes, of course! Fall is the most popular time of year for dog photography. Contact me as soon as you choose this as your session time, as fall colors are optimal only for two weeks of the year. I have sold out!

  • Your choice of location is based on your home location, travel possibilities, and seasonal conditions.

  • All locations have potential for outdoor dog photography. There may be slight variations based on your choice and your dog’s abilities (eg. hiking may not be appropriate for senior dogs), but image editing can remove leashes.

  • Some dogs are anxious or reactive. Your photo session and location are chosen for what is best and safest for everyone.
